No , We Canadians are not allowed to vote in AI just like we can't view US network videos. I tried voting once and got a voice message like this" You are calling from outside the US. Cease and desist or we will waterboard you".
Naturally I didn't call again-----I hate water sports!! LOL
Now --I guess you haven't heard that Danny has had some recent commercial success selling his voice.
Yeah--Israel has bought recordings of his last screeching note on Tuesday and will distribute them to be used to warn the population of impending rocket attacks.
Also I believe a number of states have bought the same recordings to serve as Tornado alerts.
Crystal makers across the globe will use the recordings of "The Gokey Note" to test the quality and strength of their crystal glasses.

I can understand not being allowed to vote in AI. If it were North American Idol it would be different. What is a real cheese off is the unavailability of some videos.Just doesn't make sense.
The number of votes per phone # should also be limited to say 5 to prevent automated dialing devices from
logging 100's of votes from one #.
I hear that Sean Penn is going to use the "Gokey Note" to scare off paparazzi.

I'm very angry with AI this season. Never before has there been so much of the judges in the media spouting about who they think should win. Simon was on Oprah yesterday (I didn't watch it but there was an article in our local paper) saying that Adam should win.
I thought the whole idea was to let America judge who the winner should be. It doesn't seem very fair to any of the contestants to have the judges going from talk show to talk show telling us who to vote for. I thought that was why they had time after the performance to talk.
I'm getting more and more frustrated with the manipulation of Reality TV.

I totally agree PC and not only that, they had his face splashed all over the magazine shows because some girl ran up on stage at his home town performace. BFD. I'm so over Glambert
mania. I don't even want to watch the finale. It's a fore gone conclusion who the winner will be.
More times than not, you will notice that when the judges come out early and say who they think will win....they do!! And in some cases, they shouldn't have.

There was an article on Adam in one of the trashy magazines this week about his life before AI. They really need to take the show back to complete unknowns who can't get a break. Jakey, I hope Danny wins. Na na ne na na.

I won't say anything about tonite's show regarding contestant performances since it has yet to be seen by our western members.
But really
---is this show about the contestants or the frigin childish judges?
What a display of imbecility on all parts tonite. For the 1st 1/2 hr I
thought I had tuned into Sesame street. The contestants looked truly
embarassed to be forced to endure the antics of the judges. Absolutely
one of the most disgracefull spetactles I have seen on this show.

Trashy
magazines are certainly a reliable source of info--YES? If the same rag
had published a story on Gokey it would have been discounted. Trash is
trash.
All these
contestants are unknown to the AI voting public when the show starts.
If Gokey wins it will just be like the season before last when Taylor
Hicks got voted winner over the clearly superior voice of Katherine
MacPhee. I think many people also viewed MacPhee as "too polished". I'm
sorry but this is a singing contest and the best should be recognized.
After tonite's show the voting should be very close. Ther may a surprise in the F2. HHHmnnnnnnnnn!

I absolutely agree with you Jakey about the judges behaviour. It was appalling and childish.
I didn't think they would ask Kara back but from what I've heard, Randy said all 4 will be
back.
I must've been listening to a different show last night because I didn't think any of them were
that great. Two songs out of the six were OK. Wouldn't that be something if Kris did sneak in
and win it all. They are all very talented but 2 of the styles are not my taste.

Taste is all in the mouth, LOL. I thought Heartless was great, and didn't much like Apologise. I would be fine with Kris sneaking up and winning. I don't think Adam is as great as he thinks he is. I didn't hear Danny's first song, and didn't recognise it when they played it back for the phone numbers.
Got to agree with you, Jakey, about people with superior voices coming in second (or third or fourth, for that matter. For the most part, winners of AI go nowhere. The only ones doing well as far as I can see are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Maybe you're better off to not win it.

I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear record exec talking and see who they want to produce an album with.
I was also disappointed in last nite's show aside from the ridiculous behaviour of the judges, i didn't think anyone delivered a knock punch. Adam's first song wasn't bad but he was way over the top on his second number.
Danny did a good job with "You are so beautiful" but I didn't care for his other song.
Kris--I guess he did a good job with "Apologize" but I don't like the song at all. and his second song, since I can't stand Kanye West, I really have no opinion about his songs.
All in all --it is anyone's ballgame.
I just hope the judges have the common sense and decency to apologize for their ignorant behaviour last nite. I hope Nigel Litheglow tore a strip off their sorry a$$es after the show.
The highlight of the show for me was seeing Carrie Underwood in the Idol Gives back video.

I hope the dark horse pulls it out and everyone that voted for Danny votes for Kris I think the people that wanted Danny to win would definately not want Adam as they were kind of billed as the final two from the beginning...thanks to the judges and would've become rivals in a sense.
I think Adam is a big talent but got so disgusted with him being shoved down my throat. The other season that the judges did that was Rubens and I hated it when he won. When they do that, it takes away from the credibility of the voting process and raises questions in my mind as to why I had so many problems voting for Danny this time.
The judges need to judge and then keep their mouths shut on their other opinions. Their displays have turned me off this season and I hope they apologize too Jakey.

Ive been a danny fan from the get go...BUT he did not seem to improve as the show went on...LIKE KRIS DID. I thought his version of heartless was Awsome!
I now want kris to win but have a feeling it will be adam b/c...(like jonsey said) he is bieng SHOVED down our throat!
he is on magazine covers...simon is praising him left & right, saying that Bono personaly would be thrilled to have adam sing "one"....& then katy perry coming on stage with his name sewn onto HER CAPE!.....i dont think that should be allowed...b/c It does influence people.
i loved kris's hometown video & cried when his dad said he was proud of him.

I fast forwarded to the end just to see who went home last night. I read on another thread that Katy Perry wore Adams name on a cape. That's just wrong and should not be allowed. I won't be watching next week.
Next week I will have no say because I'm not sure I'll watch Tuesday either and so I won't vote.
There have been other times where the one I wanted to win didn't but I don't feel the animosity that I do towards AI and this season.

sooo wrong.
I'm disgusted with the bias shown this season by the
judges: From Paula dancing to her favorite contestant performances to
Kara blathering on about artistry to Randy Jackson's infantile
vocabulary and Simon's attempt to influence voters.
When Randy told a contestant in the F3 that "Dawg, you can really sing" I virtually screamed at the TV---
"Gimmie
a break--no s*it Sherlock!. It's the semi finals a$$wipe --of course
they can sing. Go home and build up your vocabulary you moron. Start
simple first with maybe,Winnie the Pooh. At least get proficient enough
to write a letter to the producers of AI announcing your resignation.
Judges
should just give their critique's and shut the frack up!
Their comments this season twisted the contestants in knots because of
the inconsistency of their comments every week.
Like a skunky piano, this judges' panel is in dire need of a tune up.

Thanks Jakey, you said it soooo much better than I did. I'm beyond disgusted. How about doing it like they did back in the day. does anyone remember Ted Macks amateur hour? They came out, did their thing...NO JUDGES WERE NEEDED. The only thing I can't remember is how they determined who came back...LOL
I will also say that I probably could've enjoyed Adam more ( he had many nights of stellar performances that "I did" enjoy) if the judges and media and advertising on capes would've been left out of the equation. All too biased. I just wish Allison would've stayed in and kicked all their butts.

Amen to that Jonsey. I think Alison got the unkindest cut from the judges. Critiques on a person's attire should not be the focus in a singing competition.---aaarghhhhhhh

I absolutely agree with all you have said, both Jakey and Jonesy. The judges have been way too partial and the media wa running away with it. They need to dial it back, have impartial judges that just judge the performance and then let the audience decide who they like, after all they are the ones who will buy the records, so they are the best judges as to who will be successful. You could sing like an angel but if the audience doesn't like you , you aren't going to sell records. They have turned people off with their antics. I have lost interest and could care less who wins at this point. I am not sure I will be back next season.

I thought last night Shawn winning over Gilles in Dancing With the Stars was a shock Kris winning tonight was even more so. Not to take anything from Kris but the Idol judges need to think before opening their mouths and declaring winners when they shouldn't. They probably sealed Adams fate and there are some things in this article that really ring true. They need to judge the perfomance and then shut the heck up.

Something I've felt all along.
There was also the Danny Gokey factor. Gokey made it to the top three before he fell out of the contest, leaving his supporters up for grabs.
I mentioned it earlier that I thought Kris would get Danny's votes because they had a more similar style and background.
One thing Kris says:
Earlier this week, Allen said he hoped the outcome wouldn't be decided by "having the Christian vote."
"I hope it has to do with your talent and the performance that you give and the package that you have. It's not about religion and all that kind of stuff," he said.
I would also hope that this is the case and admire him for bringing it up as it could've hurt him instead of helped him.
The problem with these two finalists is like comparing apples to oranges. They are both very talented but so diverse in styles, how do you say who is best. I don't think Kris is better than Adam but I like his style more than Adams so in that respect, I would want him to win. I would've been happier if it would've been Danny but Oh Well!!
Adams probably signing a record deal as we speak and will be able to do things his way without being under Idols thumb.
Twice this week, good guys do win.

WOW Jakey, do you have any predictions on the Massachusetts state lottery? I can use some help! You made that call last week, that was amazing. I only felt that way tuesday that Kris may sneak by and get it. I like Kris but he wouldn''t be my choice. But he will do well and Adam can do what he wants now and not have to conform to AI mold. GOod for them. It was great seeing David Cook last night. NOW that is a class act with some great talent. Seeing and hearing him made me realise how bad this season was for me. I will be buying that song he sang last night, it was a beautiful song. I don't know how he sang that withough breaking down.

I totally agree with you that the finale song that Kara wrote was one of the worst ever. One of my favs was written by Tamyra (sp). I thought they both had trouble with that song. I also loved how Adam sang A Change is Gonna Come.
Becca, you're right about nice guys finishing second also. That was said because they were two down to earth, laid back genuine nice guys. I also said it because even in his win I've read everywhere that he said Adam deserved the title. I don't recall any other winner bestowing that comment on the runner up. Especially with survivor, I couldn't have said that if Coach or Tyson would've won. I am finding a lot of comments disturbing about America being homophobes which is so far fetched I can't believe it. If that was the case Adam wouldn't have got as far as he did Also about Kris getting the tween votes. As a teen, I would've found Adam more to my liking than Kris. From day one I thought that the girls would go crazy for Adam because he was "hot" and an edgy dresser. .
I thought the change came last year when David Cook won who had more of a rocker vibe than any previous winners...as far as contestants. A rocker never made it that far. Closest was Bo Bice coming in second..I believe. Daughtry's comment last night led me to believe that he was rooting for Kris.(comments from celebs on the carpet after the show) which I found surprising. I would've guessed him to be an Adam fan.
I think the change needed is the voting and judging process. Both leave much to be desired. I don't know if you watched local news after it was over but it was broadcast here that a lot of people complained because when they were dialing Kris' number they were getting a message of thanks for voting for Adam and having the same problems I did when I was trying to vote for Danny with no message at the end getting a busy signal or saying thanks for voting for that contestant. It's frustrating to vote and run into these problems and of course like every year when asked about it, Fox denied anything was wrong.
I watch a lot of reality shows and vote on every one of them and have never ever had the problems that I do with AI.

I admire David Cook for being able to even sing the song after such a short time losing his brother.
I also need to mention that Queen Latifah needs to fire her styling consultant. I was actually embarrased for her wearing that unitard she had on. It was distracting to say the least and made it hard for me to focus on her singing.

I loved last night's show! It was the best finale I've seen in a long time. Kris's mom summed it up when she said she forgot it was a results show, they were having such a good time (or something like that). I loved seeing all those who were voted out be allowed to sing with the stars. What an honor! Although, on a side note, it was kind of funny that most of those stars were old enough to be their grandparents!
Adam was a class act last night when Kris was announced the winner. It seemed that they genuinely were rooting for each other. I loved the end when Adam and Allison were standing and singing together arm in arm.
Can't wait to get started on So You Think You Can Dance this week!
