I'm glad I have a DVR in more than one room. I am going to tape in my bedroom and watch American Idol with my kids in the living room. I will be glad it's back to Tuesday and Wednesdays next week. Too many things I watch on Thursdays for AI to be on too.

I wasn't home to watch AI tonight, but caught Adam's amazing performance. I'll go along with the RECAP for now: Hot: Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Matt Breitzke Ouch: Kai Kalama and Jeanine Vailes Wild card contenders: Mishavonna Henson, Kris Allen, Megan Joy Corkre and Jesse Langseth Who knows?!: Nick MitchellAbout Nick (Norman Gentle): ...on this night, the Connecticut native probably pushed the envelope too far, ratcheting up the camp factor big-time with "And I Am Telling You." And folks, I am telling you that "Idol" has never seen such a ridiculous performance. His is a two-bit cabaret act that, while initially amusing, has clearly become old. ... But thank goodness for Simon, who stated succinctly, "I pray you don't go through to the next round."
I never understood why he was allowed to go this far to begin with. Jamar was eliminated, but Nick gets more stage time...unreal. It's like an insult even if he is providing some sort of entertainment.

I loved the red headed girl and agree that she owned the stage. I like that she's a little offbeat and I'm sure that's what the judges like about her too. Also, Adam..the hip dude who sang last. He is a great entertainer but he has to tone down his Constantine Marsalis lip curls and camera posing. He will be picked up by someone if he doesn't make it. He's got the whole package and the tweens are going to go ga ga. At least he has talent.
For the third although I didn't care for his song choice is the curly haired dude with the sick mom. I think he just hasn't given his all yet.
for the girls Jasmine or Mishavonna although both didn't do that well last night.

Contestants continue to pick songs from artists they just don't touch...unless you can nail Michael Jackson or Whitney or Celine then you better not pick their songs.

I think Adam and Allison were awesome, Kris Allen is boring to me. I was disappointed that Kai and Jasmine did not do better.
This should come down to Danny & Adam being the last 2 standing, in my opinion.

I didn't remember Jorge from weeks ago and after just a few seconds into his song, omg! I was very moved by his lovely performance. He did things that were stunning and unlike anything I've heard so far. Glad the judges were just as thrilled with him and I can't wait to see him in final 12. I think his warm personality, strong work ethic, and tone/style should keep him around a while.
Von was my other favorite tonight and I hope he goes through. I remembered him quite well and always felt he'd make it to F12. He opened the show well and chose a good song for himself.
Lil Rounds should make it through. Very talented, but the other 2 wowed me more tonight. I also liked Felicia.
Ju'not? not! I can't believe the judges liked what he did. Jamar did "Hey Delilah" a lot better, imo! Paula kept saying she remembered Taylor doing it...huh??
Alex (nerd) was quite amusing to watch, but I cracked up when the judges got at him. Simon said that he tired of his silly moves like dropping or kicking the microphone and then Alex explained it was a mistake. LOL

My favorites were Von, Scott, Felicia and Ju'not. Ju'not changed it up a bit, but I thought it was good. Didn't care for Lil. She's just another screamer.

I liked Felicia, Lil Rounds, Jorge, Von, the best. I liked the blind guy (Scott) but I think he would have a problem with production numbers and although very good, not outstanding or unique. Remember when he won his yellow ticket and he walks outside to the family and Ryan sticks his hand up for a high five...hello...he's blind!! So him doing that to Ryan last night was hysterical. Country girl singers were good but we already had Carrie Underwood..the best..Couldn't stand head band guy. I thought Junot was good..not great. The others were forgetable.
Already controversy with Adam Lambert. Caught in some pictures getting very friendly with another guy. Not sure what the pictures are about. also a seasoned broadway veteran..and supposedly seen dining with Randy. Randy refutted saying,"that they just happened to be in the same restaurant,"and they ran into each other...not dining together."

Felicia and Jorge were also really good.

I hope Lil makes it and I also think Kristen deserves another shot. I thought she was a lot better than the judges gave her credit for. I certainly liked her version of that Tracey Chapman song than the original itself.
As for the guys--who cares? As long as it isn't the prancing drama queen headband fruitcake or the nerdy mic kicker.

We all knew Tatiana was going to make it. They want ratings and she has enough drama to last a year. I hope that the voting public will let her know, one last time that they've had enough of her crying and giggling.
I hope Jasmine makes it through. I thought she was pretty consistent until last week. Von, Braddy, Anoup for the guys.

How are they doing this? Do eight people sing tonight and then the public votes? Or do they sing and the judges pick the winners? How would that be fair. and would we have to wait until next Tuesday to find out?

I think the judges get to pick them. That way they have some say and I'm sorry to say but I bet they put three women through and one of them will be drama queen which will really tick me off because then it's all about ratings. But right now they only have 3 girls. I'm hoping that they're not going with the usual 6 and 6.

When they said the name "Ricky" last night, I was going "who?"...totally forgot who he was or what he sang. Tatiana was a given, we all knew they would pick her.
I hope Jasmine and Matt make it. I would be good with Jesse or Megan too. I don't really care for Von or Anoop that much.
I am bummed that Kristen and Ju'Not did not make it.

I much preferred Felicia Barton to Tatiana. She had a really powerful voice. I got the impression that the judges were only picking wild cards from the first two shows. I would have like to see Junot in there instead of Von.

It was a total waste of a spot to pick Tatiana! Yes she has a good voice but it stops there. This girl just flat out can't win AI with her attitude and quirks. She was picked for the drama factor and that is a bare ass kick in the teeth to someone like Kristen who would have gained more out of the experience.
If god forbid Tatiana did win AI , she would not survive a year before some frustrated agent or record exec strangled her. My guess is that there would be so many different print marks on her neck , no CSI team would ever be able to determine would gave her the final coup de grace.
Whatta crock!!!!!!!
arrghhhhhhhhhhh--time to medicate

RE:American Idol - Season 8 !!
(Date Posted:03/11/2009 06:21 AM)
First of all, there is talk of getting rid of Kara because she's stepping on Simons toes. Please keep her and get rid of Paula. She no 1 looked horrible last night as if on a weeks bender and what was with her shaking and her voice shaking when trying to be oh so elequent(sp). I actually switched off the show when she was talking.
I'm a big Denny fan and he's been my favorite from day one. I loved his rendition of PYT and he's also got great stage presence. Paula once again announcing he was going to win it was just assinine.
The others who I loved...Lil, Matt, Michael and Allison. I think Allison could very well be the one to win it. She's unique with a different sound. They keep comparing Matt to Justin Timberlake and I'm not seeing that at all.
I liked Adam and really enjoy watching him but I want to see a different style. I'm over him screaming most of his songs. You can definately tell he's been on stage before. Really reminds me of Steven Tyler.
I liked the way Alexis started out with her song but hated the ending. She also will be in it for awhile
Was very disappointed in Jorge, Anoup, Jasmine..all very boring. Kris is a great singer..just nothing special.
The ones to go should be Scott and Meagan. How Meagan got this far is beyond me and Scott, although he has a good voice..just isn't cutting it.

I too think Scott & Megan should be the ones to go, I like Megan but hated her song choice. Anoop and Jorge could be in trouble as well.
Danny, Adam, Lil & Allison were the tops of the night. Alexis is a favorite of mine but Dirty Diana was not a good choice.
I would love to hear Adam sing a Guns N' Roses song, his voice sort of reminds me of Axel Rose.

Was Paula drunk? Or had someone hit her in the face? She had a bright red cheek. She was out of control last night. Can't stand Kara or Simon. I don't understand how they judge people. If they sing something we all know, they tell them they shouldn't touch that song. If they sing something we have never heard of, same thing. If they lighten up they tell them to be more serious. It just goes on and on with the contradictions. And I really hope this new voting procedure tonight doesn't include the final decision rests with the judges, that would really pee me off. Anoop would probably be out, and I think he's terrific. I thought he was pretty good last night and I don't understand why the judges were so harsh on him. I would send home Megan or Jasmine, and Michael or Scott. I hope Danny or Matt wins the whole thing.

I thought Anoop was horrible last night. Also not up to snuff were: Scott, Kris and Jasmine. Actually Kris was pathetic with his guitar --just didn't fit.
Adam was great. Also Allison and Lil and Alexis. I just don't get the love for Danny aside from the sympathy angle he has nothing special.
What bugs me also is all the judges saying you can't touch Mariah,Whitney and Arethra and MJ songs and then the producers turn around an throw in an MJ night! I wonder how much Whacko Jacko had to pay for that coverage to probably hype his upcoming resurection tour.
Paula Abdumb is a total disgrace. Simon continues to be the most valued opinion since he is not swayed by concerns of popularity. If Abdumb says she likes something everyone says -yeah yeah big deal. If Simon says you were good --run and put that gold bar in the vault. Kara is also a very knowledgeable judge but I just wish she'd stop talking like a teenager using terms like "ridculous" and "Sick" as terms implying a superlative--grow up lady! Randy Jackson has improved since he has tried to limit his use of the word "dawg" but he is still on the flakey side.
I'm thinking that Scott, Anoop or Meagan could go tonite--I hope it isn't Meagan --I like her sound. Jasmine was also very boring last nite.
Cheers
