Fall television will be in full swing shortly and my VCR and DVD Recorder will be in full use. Not only is Survivor starting but so is The Amazing Race and The Biggest Loser.

I just found this article on The Amazing Race. Click here for the full read.

The Amazing Race 15: A Preview

by Jenn Brasler -- 09/11/2009

It’s fall, which means students go back to school, the leaves start to change colors, and The Amazing Race comes back to send another group of travelers around the world. It’s hard to predict what will happen this season just from the racers’ bios, but Jenn has some ideas of what we’ll see, along with word on a couple of new things to look out for.

Uh-Oh!  First BB11, then Survivor, starring Russell and Ben, and now there
are definite signs of a Bad Moon Rising over The Amazing Race!

Just what sadist dreamed up the idea of eliminating one couple before they
even got to start, and then deliberately rubbed their noses in it, by staging
a non-elimination leg in the first round?  Talk about adding insult to injury,
not to mention cruel and unusual punishment.  Outrageous!!!

I shudder to think what the next Torquemada Twist may turn out to be!

I recently read an article about 10 mega-companies in danger of bankruptcy,
and CBS was prominently mentioned.  Maybe they've decided to have one
last evil fling.

Having said that, though, there were some primo moments.  My personal
favorite was when the poker players, cleverly disguised as The Mother Teresa
Twins, got busted on the streets of Tokyo by a total stranger!.  I mean, what
are the odds?  That was just too perfect!

(Or possibly too perfectly staged? Hmmm!  I wonder.)

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the game, even if I DO wind up turning
purple a lot.  If CBS keeps it up, purple may become my permanent color!

Smoky

Im so glad it was 2 hrs so we could get more familiar with the teams.

this sure is a stressful game...i could never do it!

LOL Smoky aka Barney!  If they wanted 11 couples to start the game they should've just started with that many.  At least the ones that were eliminated took the high road of being gracious.  I would've been camped on CBS;s doorstep with something destructive in my hands...

I love a two hour premiere.  It helps with getting to know the teams a little better.  I also thought the poker players getting busted was great and everyone hearing what was being said was better.  Does it seem that they are a couple as well as playing poker together.  Just askin.

The highlight for me was when the guy with Aspergers (I think it's Zev) gave his coat to the very happy local.  That sealed it for me.  I'm rooting for them.

The game show was too funny.  When the teams arrived and were surprised by a live audience
was great tv.  These cheesy shows are so popular and a gross eating challange to boot.

I thought the speed bump was pretty lame compared to seasons past.  It didn't take anytime at all and to me, they weren't really penalized.

What about that rain in Vietnam.  I wonder how many cyclists are killed in a day by cab drivers.
I would've been freaked out having to drive through that.  I live in Oregon where we don't tan we rust and that would've been considered a flood and the city would've closed down.

Great start and I'm looking forward to Smoky changing colors.  Too bad it won't be in hues of fall then you could stand on your porch as a decoration...hee hee.

I hope the lawyer/wife team go next.  He's just to pushy, arrogant and full of himself for me.

I never did understand why a show would eliminate someone before they even really began. Those poor people, who hoped and prayed to be on this show (and others), finally get their chance and CBS says NO! Mean, mean, mean and mean!

I was amazed that only one person seemed to know who Jackie Kennedy Onassis was.  Those competitors aren't that young that they would never have come across her before.

I'm bummed.  I really liked Zev and Justin.  Zev was a hoot and was making such big strides
with his illness.  His sense of humor was priceless.  As he said to come in first and be so excited only to have it all taken away and then eliminated to boot.  I felt sooo bad for them.

Globetrotters are running a much better race than I had expected.  They are playing smart and are a kick to watch.  I hope they do well or win it.

I also like Gary and Matt and the father son bonding time they are having.  I had my doubts about Matt but he's been doing great. I thought Gary was the best monkey..lol.

Surprising that none of them knew who Jacqueline Kennedy was except Gary and I think he wasn't sure of himself when he said he thought it was her.

That Russian Market would drive me nuts.  Too clostraphobic for me.

I was also amazed that no one knew who Jackie Kennedy was.  For cryin out loud.  Don't they teach about The Presidents assisnation in history anymore.  They should've known who she was.

One of the requirements to get on the show should be NO phobias.

I disagree Linda.  One of the great things about this show is watching people who have these phobias overcome them and then are so proud of themselves for doing it.  I'm terrified of heights but it wasn't like you were bungy jumping or repelling down a cliff.  You were at least on the ground.

LOL I think I would have been the same way. Fear is not logical. I would have had to walk up to it, sit down and go without thinking or looking but it wouldn't have happened that way. I may have gotten myself to do it if I had a partner who helped calm me and walked me through it. I may have down it for them  but I sure as HECK wouldn't do it if  the person tried to physically throw me down it!  He lost her trust then and only made it worse. He may have been frustrated but he only made it worse

I was very upset about the challenge the two girls were unable to finish.   Why would they come up with a challenge that relies on strength?  Even some guys would be unable to ring that bell.  I wondered why the two girls  ( forgive me, I can't think of their names) wouldn't have skipped that part and taken a penalty.   Once they had shown they tried and tried and didn't just look at it and say to hell with that, they should have been given some kind of grace period.  Was anyone else mad about this?

I thought it was rather stupid to go back to it when they couldn't hit it hard enough when they first tried and were fresh.  They had no way of knowing that they could have saved themselves by just running to the finish line and taking a penalty.  That only becomes obvious in hindsight. They should have stuck with the golf and they probably would have been okay

My husband didn't think it was fair.  IMP,  they weren't thinking.  They should of skipped it after so many tries and gone in for the dancing.

LOL...i thought that was funny too, but my son didnt know what a candleabra was either!

so its down to 4 teams..i think the globetrotters have a good chance...actually its anybodys game.  I dont really have a favorite team, but those brothers sure do argue & talk nasty to each other..i hope that changes after the race.

does anyone know when the finale is & how long it is?

;-)
