I've read where Ben probably went to Sayid to get him to come back and Sayid beat the crap out of him prompting Ben to have him arrested for a conviction in Guam and needed to be transported back there.
IMO the plane crashed in the present and the OC 6 are in the past.
Do you think Kate gave Aaron to Claires mom?
Very well could've been Charlie that came to Hurley again and told him to get on that plane.

Yeah, the only thing I can figure is that she gave Aaron to Claire's mom or perhaps Sun's mother has him.

RE:Lost
(Date Posted:02/23/2009 10:44 AM)
tanya...I have some answers/theories for all your questions:Okay, I thought this last episode was a bit of a stretch. Getting on another plane? Why not return to the island by boat or submarine?
Makes sense...it's how most of them got there in the first place. Plus, with such a small window, there's no way a ship or sub could have gotten there soon enough.
Did the plane crash in the present while the Oceanic 6 are in the past?
I don't think the plane crashed at all. They flew over the zone at the correct time and then everything went real bright, just like it does when the island skips time. I think they simply disappeared off that plane and were brought back to the island. Of course, that means that the pilot (Lupidus) disappeared too, but there had to be a co-pilot. Also...interesting tie in...when Sawyer and Juliet and Co returned to the beach a couple episodes ago...found a camp and it turned out to not be theirs, because they were in the past...well, there was a bottle of water with the Aljira airline logo on it. That camp is Jack/Kate/Hurley's camp...I'd almost guarantee it.
New questions:
What is the deal with Sayid being handcuffed?
My guess is Ben reported one of Sayid's killings since he left the island...only way to get him on the flight.
Who told Hurley to be on that plane? Charlie?
This is up in the air for me...last we saw Hurley, he was in jail. Aside from who told him to get on this plane...how did he get out of jail and get there? Had to have someone pilling strings for him. My guess is Widmore. He wants the island and he has the means to get a man out of jail and on a flight like that.
Who beat up Ben? Was it Desmond?
Before heading to the airport, Ben said he had one last piece of unfinished business. We all know that business was to keep his promise to Widmore and kill Penny. I think it's a guarantee that Desmond beat the crap out of him. The real question is...did he do it before or after Ben killed Penny?
What did Kate do with Aaron?
I would think Claire's mom is the likely answer here, which is why she was so reluctant to talk about it with Jack. The question I have is, I thought they ALL were supposed to go back to the island. That should have included Aaron, yes?
I know there are many more but, my mind is spinning. Did you guys totally expect Ben's dad to get out of the volkswagon bus at the end? I couldn't have been more shocked to see Jin. Even though the last time we see Jin he is in the past. This is something I've very curious about. We know by the van that they're in the past. The van is brand new and Jin is in a brand new Dharma uniform. Did he steal the van and uniform? Or has he been there so long, he's working for them now?
Further questions for me are: Where are Ben, Sayid, Lupidis and Sun now? Where did Locke's body go? If they do what they're supposed to do now that they're there...can they ever get back to the current time or are they lost in the past now?
Either way, i can't wait until Wednesday's show...since it'll be all about Locke, we should get some good answers to some long standing questions.

Thanks Jim!
It is quite possible that Ben killed Penny (her character is really not much use now). And if he did, Desmond will want to return to the island to avenge her death by trying to kill Ben.
I think Jin probably stole the van and clothes. Unless Locke fixing the wheel made time stop skipping and they have been in the past all this time?
I am looking forward to this week's show as well. Locke is one of my most favorite characters along with Ben and Sawyer. Sawyer for reasons completely different than the other 2.

Looks like they are in the past since he's driving the VW. Can't wait for the episode tonight. I'm just along for the ride at this point because there are too many twists and turns to figure out. But it's a fun ride.

Last night cleared up a lot of things but also raised more questions. One of the questions I had is why did Ben stop Locke from commiting suicide then turn around and kill him? Was he trying to get the name of Hawkings (I thought he already knew about her) or was he trying then to keep him from going to her???? I'm excited to see what happens when they come face to face with everyone that's back. Especially Jin.

I think although Locke was supposed to die as Christian and Richard told him, for some reason it could not be suicide and Ben knows this. Also by talking Locke out of it, Ben learned about Jin still being alive and that Widmore knows about Mrs. Hawkings. Matthew Abadon put the thought of suicide in Locke's mind when he said "death can be a choice". So I think Widmore was manipulating Locke and trying to foil his plans. Abadon also had to know that Hurley would have a negative reaction when he saw him, so why didn't he stay in the car? Again I think Widmore & Abadon were trying to ruin things.
I think Widmore is the bad guy....but I have also considered that Widmore and Ben are the bad guys (both with different agenda's) and Richard is really the only one of them that wants to trully protect the island and not use it for selfish purposes as the other two do.
I can't wait for next week

So they are now in 1974 and stuck there? Why didn't Sun get out of the van? What will happen with Sawyer and Kate? Each week, more questions. They no longer have the chance to take the sub out. It was blown up, right? Do they have an optometrist and optical department in the new compound (Sawyer with glasses)

3 years ago is 1974 and 3 years later is 1977. So at the point in time that Jack and them arrive back on the island it is 1977. This is a period of time before the sub was blown up. Sun was not with Jake, Kate & Hurley when Jin found them, so she was not in the van. At this point we do not know where Sun and Sayid are on the island. It looks like we find out in 2 weeks though.
I was really expecting Sawyer & company to run into young Ben last night, hope we see that soon. I wonder if the baby that Horace & Amy had will turn out to be someone we know.
Oh, Sawyer + Juliet together are awesome. I hope little miss freckles keeps her nose out of it.

I'm sure that baby will be someone we have already met, but I doubt it's a major character. Maybe Ethan or someone like that.
Quickie tidbiots from last night:
Horace is the guy who picked up Ben's parents and Ben right after birth. He's also the guy that got Ben's father his job in the Dharma initiative and got Ben on the island. Horace is also the guy whose spirit led Locke to the grave of all the Dharma people. Also...he was the one who designed and built the log cabin that Jacob currently lives in.
The statue could turn out to be a HUGE key in figuring out what the deal is on this island. The necklace that paul was wearing when he died (and that Horace and Amy fought over) was an Ahnk. Looking at a screen cap of the statue, he too is holding what appears to be an ahnk in his right hand. It is being speculated that the statue is a statue of the Egyptian God Anubis. Anubis always had the ahnk and also only had 4 toes. When you mix this with the herioglyphics we've seen from time to time, suggests some serious Egyptian themes going on out there. I have my thoughts on what that could mean, but don't want to share them right now.
Sawyer looks like a complete doofus with his hair combed.
In 1977, Amy had that baby with no problems to her or the baby (sure, c-section and all that...but no one died). So, whatever happened that causes babies and moms to die on the island, hasn't happened as of 1977.
Just some stuff that I picked up.

I agree Tanya..I like Sawyer and Juliet together. I had forgot that Sun and Sayid were not with the group when they were transported back also the pilot.
Very interesting how many things Horace has been involved with.

Last night was awesome...but they better have a damn good explanation for hof Lupidas, Ben, Sun and Locke are in 2007 (with the rest of the plane folks) but Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid are in 1977.
At this point, all we know about Faraday is that he was there in 1974 and he's gone in 1977...so who knows what that means.
Further, you have to be thinking that Sayid has his sights on killing young Ben now.
I'm wondering why Sawyer and Juliet haven't done something about young Ben...it's not like they don't know what he's about.
I was very glad to see Hurley mention something about how Dharma all got killed...because it sure would seem that Sawyer, Juliet and Miles are now in line to join them in the mass killing at Ben's hand.
Next week does indeed look awesome...looks like Sayid and Sawyer are gonna have some issues. And if so...Sayid's in trouble.

I too think Sayid saying that now knows why he came back was applying to the scene with young Ben and it must be his destiny to kill him.
Don't you think Ben knows how to get back to where they are? He seems to be the instigator of time travel.
I just follow the show and wait for others to tell me what's really happening. I can't catch all the little nuances that you guys pick up on.

I had guessed that Sayid was sent back to kill Ben. Is he really dead??? So does this mean that all the mass killing won't happen? He's the one that instigated it and it has been said that they have to go back to save the others lives so I'm assuming by killing Ben this is what was meant..
I'm wondering now...how does all this work with Ben and Sun trying to get to them. If he's dead, how does he return.
All so confusing as usual.

I don't think Ben is dead, he will be saved. Jack or Juliet will operate and he will recover. Or maybe Richard finds him or the island saves him much like Locke was saved when he was lying in that pit with a bullet in his stomach. Ben is not dead though.
Good Episode, I loved the flashbacks into Sayid's past.
I totally feel cheated that I did not get my "stay away from my man" fight between Juliet and Kate!

RE:Lost

Where did all the Lost-ies go?
And after such a great episode last week.
Everything is turning out so interestingly, I'm loving it.
Ben is such a horrible person as an adult, that Sayid, given the opportunity, tries to kill him as a child.
While dying, Jack refuses to help save his life...which forces Kate and Sawyer to take him to The Others.
Richard takes him and then tells them that his innocence will be lost, but they can save him.
This turn of events is what will turn Ben into such a horrible person as an adult.
So Sayid has basically created the monster.
And then as an added bonus...I guarantee that whatever was wrong with Ben's back that Jack had to fix...I guarantee it's related to this shooting. So, Jack's refusal to help the boy is what caused him to have to help adult Ben.
Also...the conversation about time travel between Hurley and Miles was one of the best ever.

What could be better than a Ben and Locke episode?
Ben totally did not expect to see John again, he was lying to John about that one.
We finally get to see how Ben kidnapped Alex. One thing though, there is no way that Russo would have let him take her baby without a fight. Even if it meant death, no way.
The scene with Ben/Penny/Desmond interesting too. Although it was written out of character for Ben and Desmond. First of all, Ben would have known where Desmond was before hand. Second, Desmond would not have just beat Ben up for trying to kill Penny. He would have killed him, unless there is more to the scene that we haven't been shown yet.
Gotta love smokey in the temple. That was awesome.

I disagree about Desmond. He's not a killer. I think that worked just fine.
I was surprised because I really thought Ben killed Penny before Desmond beat him up.
And then when Ben said to tell Desmond that he was sorry, I just knew it. DOH!!!!
Loved the episode and it'll be very interesting now that Ben will be following Locke.
Still curious as to how they plan to hook up with the folks in 1977. Turn the wheel again and set the island off kilter again? I have no idea otherwise.

So Jim, Ben DID kill Penny before Desmond beat him up. I am assuming that Desmond did not die from the shot! Now we know why Bens face was so messed up when he got on the plane. I agree Tanya about Russo not putting up a fight.
I've been following this all along and still get very confused trying to keep years and characters straight.
Ah, Smokey...has Ben really been forgiven.
Now this may be a stupid quesiton, but if they are in 1977..isn't Alex still alive? What am I missing. Jim..you have to give me more in your recaps...LOL

They will probably pass of the shot Ben took at Desmond as a little flesh wound, and Ben did not kill Penny. As least not that we have seen yet. The last we saw of those three, Ben was thrown into the water.
In 1977 Alex isn't born yet. The flashbacks we see of Ben kidnapping Alex and raising her are after 1977.
Don't feel bad for getting confused, Jonsey. This season can be confusing with all the time travel and it messes with me too. Yeck it even messes with Miles and Hurley!!

Now this may be a stupid quesiton, but if they are in 1977..isn't Alex still alive? What am I missing. Jim..you have to give me more in your recaps...LOL Ok Jonesy...let's break this down. Hahaha... (Jakey...if you really plan on watching...don't read any further as I'm spoiling a good portion of this season)
Ben did not kill Penny. I have been thinking for weeks that he did. And when he asked for Sun to find Desmond and apologize, I was positive that he did. But, he never got a shot off. Desmond beat the crap out of him, dumped him in the water and left him for dead. I think that's the last we'll see of that whole thing. Through new flashbacks, we've now seen pretty much every bit of Jack's, Kate's, Sayid's, Hurley's, Ben's and Locke's 3 years since the rescue. There may be more of Sun's to see...I'm not sure. Here's my best recap on dates and characters....*deep breath* Sun, Ben, Lopidas, Locke and the rest of the new crash folks are in 2007 on the island. All of the Dharma houses and buildings are messed up and deserted. Ben was judged by Smokey (and I'll have more on that later) and has now submitted to following Ben's every order. meanwhile, the other folks on the plane ALSO had some sort of connection to the island, though we don't know what. Hurley, Jack and Kate are in 1977 working for the Dharma Initiative. Sayid is also in 1977, but as you know is seen as a Hostile, taken prisoner and shoots kid Ben. Sawyer, Juliet, Jin and Miles stopped bouncing through time in 1974. Because Sawyer arranged a truce with Richard Alpert, they were taken in and employed by Dharma. In the 3 years between that day and when Jack and Co show back up, Sawyer (now called Jim LaFleur) is head of security, living with Juliet and a very well respected man within Dharma. Miles and Jin are also on staff, Jin under Sawyer and Miles...well, I'm not sure. Anyway...Dan Faraday was with them in 1974, but after seeing a toddler aged Charlotte, I guess has some sort of epiphany and is gone...though at this point, we have no idea where (or when.) Desmond and Penny are living happily together on the mainland in 2007, until Ben shows up to kell Penny. After that, we have no idea where Desmond went as he refused to join the trip back to the island. Aaron was taken to his real grandma, Claire's mom, as he probably should have been in the first place. Ok...I think that's everyone's when. On the Smokey...it's my belief, that when Widmore told Ben the island wanted Baby Alex dead...i think that was the truth. Ben defied the island that day and kept her as his own. My reason for this belief is that Danielle Russo always said that her people got sick and died. We saw that they weren't SICK sick, but mentally sick as they were trying to take Alex from her and she shot them all. Of course...her team went exploring in Smokey's temple and when they came out...they were, in her words, "changed." I believe it's because Smokey told them the baby had to be sacrificed. Which has held true ever since. I think THAT'S why no other babies could be born on the island, and I think THAT'S why Ben was spared by Smokey...because he let her die, which is what the island wanted all along. However, in being spared by Smokey, Ben still has a debt to be paid to the island and somehow, following John Locke and doing whatever he needs will be the way Ben can repay that debt. Whew...I think that's all I got for now.

Miles watching his dad with the baby Miles.
And Hurley's whole conversation with Miles' dad in the bus.
