I mentioned NYC to emphasize being used to hearing several languages growing up. But I never ever heard anyone pronounce ricotta that way as "ragawtha".
Some Italians sound the c almost like g as in "regatta". Maybe that's what she was aiming for.

LJ, the little thing around his neck is a purple rock. I think it was Dalton who said Erik bleeds purple. I can really get that in the Ponderosa clip.

They never merged with 12 people before that I remember. I have no idea how they will work this. I really wish Erik wasn't on the jury myself but it should be a long final TC with that many people asking questions

I have oldtimers. Have we ever had this many jury members? Usually merge at 10 one is voted off before the first jury member. Final two. Merge at 10, first one voted off jury member final 3 scenario. Merge at 12 first one voted off is a jury member so it would be a 9 or 10 jury depending on final 2/3 scenario.

Topic : Moving Up

I watch this show every Sunday morning, it's on about four times. I really like it even tho I don't understand how they get enough people to fit the concept of homeowners moving into larger more expensive homes and then spend the next couple of months totally renovating the place. It bothers me that when the new owners wreck the kitchens, they never keep the cabinets for Habitat for Humanity, but rather show extreme pleasure in destroying them into splinters. The true bitchiness of people comes out in this show, no-one ever has anything nice to say about their previous homes after they've been re-done. Anyone else watching?

NYC? Oh well then, that explains everything. My friend from Long Island went shopping with me in Toronto many years ago and we went to a so-called italian store to get the ingredients for lasagna. She was most upset because the deli clerk couldn't provide what my friend called "ragawtha". I had always used cottage cheese in my lasagna and had never heard of ragawtha so I didn't know that it was just her way of pronouncing ricotta. (I had never heard of ricotta, either, this was 1974.) It takes all kinds as they say. Cheers!

I've been saying NEWtella all my life...well, I grew up in NYC and my closest friend since childhood is Italian. ;-)

I think if it's a VERY difficult Swedish or German or other pronunciation, then I can understand changing some of the phonetics...however, the majority of times I prefer the real deal.

Can you imagine saying "peanot noear" for pinot noir? *shudder*

NOPE! He is an arrogant jerk! I haven't liked him for awhile now and after the last two weeks he is just as repulsive as Russell IMHO.
I think we know who will give the sore loser speech at the Final TC

I'm liking Brett. He's kind of quiet and just going along but a hard competitor and works around camp. Right now, not saying anything is smart. I'm liking Natalie more. I think having Russell in her back pocket..he thinks its the other way around..is to her advantage.

I found this surprising:

Erik: I will say this too – as kooky and crazy and sometimes annoying as Shambo can be, there is something good about her heart and loyalty and camaraderie. I would have gone with her. Once Russell went down, the next deserving person I saw to give the idol was Shambo. How great would it have been to go vote at top five and for Shambo to pull out the idol and make the final four? That would have been great TV. That girl has a great heart and she’s loyal as hell.
